Gallery The KIM is located in Yangnim-dong, Gwangju—a community-friendly historic and cultural village where everyday life transforms into art and the village itself breathes as a museum. Inaugurating its exhibition programming in 2018, the gallery served as a main exhibition venue for the Gwangju Biennale in 2024, and transitioned from its former name, Gallery B&J, to its current moniker in 2025 to pursue even more dynamic curatorial initiatives. Moving beyond conventional, passive white-cube models, Gallery The KIM embraces an outreach-oriented paradigm that actively engages with the public. Through diverse curatorial endeavors and collaborative initiatives, the gallery is committed to expanding sustainable platforms for artists while cultivating an inspiring communal space where art and audiences evolve together.
