The 16th Gwangju International Art Fair (Art Gwangju)

Rebranded as the Gwangju International Art Fair, the event took a significant step toward becoming a leading art fair in Asia. It expanded its international network through the participation of domestic and international galleries and international exchange projects with Spain, the United States, Mongolia, and Singapore. It also strengthened connections with local communities and businesses through the establishment of a regional cultural governance network and a sponsorship committee.

A total of 111 booths were operated, including booths representing 99 professional galleries from Korea and abroad (88 domestic and 11 international galleries), as well as three special exhibition booths, three curated exhibition booths, and service booths.

2024 15th Gwangju International Art Fair

Hosted by the Gwangju Cultural Foundation, this year’s event aims to strengthen its public value. Under the theme “An Art Market for All, A Beloved Art Festival,” ART:GWANGJU:24 will feature a variety of special programs in collaboration with businesses and organizations — including a permanent art market, VIP PSR, art talks, and an online viewing room — while also enhancing its promotional outreach.

The main exhibition features 113 booths, comprising booths from professional galleries both domestic (96) and international (10), as well as 7 booths for the special exhibition “Art Gwangju 24”.

Under the theme of “An Inclusive Art Market, An Exciting Art Festival,” efforts were made to attract various regional galleries from Korea and actively build collaborative structures with international galleries.

The main exhibition featured 116 booths, comprising booths from domestic and international professional galleries (92 domestic, 11 international) and 13 special exhibition booths for Art:Gwangju:23.

Under the theme of “A Beloved Art Market Supporting Art Culture,” various pre-events and programs (preview, pre-fair, online exhibition, metaverse exhibition, art culture lectures, etc.) were organized.

The main exhibition featured 114 booths, with 86 domestic and international professional galleries from 10 countries (75 domestic, 11 international), along with 11 special exhibition booths for Art:Gwangju:22 and 17 curated exhibition booths.
