Art Dongbaek Gallery opened its doors in May 2022 at ‘Mundong 240’, a multidisciplinary cultural space nestled in a seaside village in Ilgwang, Gijang, inaugurated by its opening exhibition 《Encounter (遭遇)》. Since then, through a variety of curated exhibitions such as 《Greenish Green》 and 《The Wind Blows》, alongside the ‘Love Busan, Art East Busan’ project, the gallery has introduced the artistic worlds of creators from Busan and across Korea. It continues to foster an artistic arena where established, mid-career, and emerging artists connect and engage in dialogue.
Leveraging domestic art fairs and cultural networks to expand artists’ horizons, the gallery is broadening its reach in 2026 with a Korea-Japan exchange exhibition, exploring new possibilities through international art exchanges beyond the local scene. Art Dongbaek Gallery strives to be an open artistic platform connecting artists, artworks, the local community, and the world. By discovering talented artists and presenting diverse artistic discourses, we are committed to continuous exhibitions and exchanges to help the cultural and artistic values of Busan resonate with a global audience.
